Dr. Kimmel was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where she received her DVM in 1996. She has lived and worked in Charlotte for the past 14 years. She resides in Ballantyne with her partner Larry Spearman, her teenage daughter Miranda, a retired racing greyhound, a perpetually dieting cat, a pair of guinea piggies, and usually a betta fish or two. In addition to improving the health and wellbeing of animals, other passions include reading, design, art, yoga and denying that Miranda will be leaving us for college soon.
DownDog Veterinary Clinic is a fusion of serenity and amazing veterinary care for dogs and cats. Inspired by the calm and tranquility of a regular yoga practice, Dr. Jennifer Kimmel wanted to bring this same aesthetic to the design of a clinic and the care of her beloved patients. And thus, DownDog Veterinary Clinic was born!
DownDog Veterinary Clinic is here for your pet’s wellness and sick needs, routine dentistry and surgery. Immediate laboratory results and radiology are available for urgent pets. Visiting ultrasound and orthopedic surgery services can be arranged. We enjoy collaborating with veterinary specialists in Charlotte and beyond for pets with special or advanced needs.
Grooming and boarding are available at Modern Pet Salon, also in the Village. DownDog Veterinary Clinic is happy to escort your pet for services between the two businesses.
Because nothing replaces careful and thorough communication when it comes to your pet’s best care, Dr. Kimmel strives to be as accessible as possible during business hours. We encourage direct communication with Dr. Kimmel through the day via text and email.
We would love to have you stop by, introduce your pets and enjoy a cup of coffee. Namaste!
